The World Health
Organization Collaborating Centre on Surveillance of Cardiovascular Diseases
was approved by the
Pan American Health Organization in Washington, DC, USA and the Non-Communicable
Diseases Division of
World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland in May 1995.
The Centre is supported by the Surveillance Division, Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, Public Health Agency of
Canada. Collaborating organizations include
the Non-Communicable Diseases Division and the Vital Statistics Division of
the Pan American Health Organization, the
InterAmerican Heart Foundation, and the World Heart Federation (formerly
the International Society and Federation of Cardiology).
We are also pleased to
collaborate with many colleagues around the world. In time, we would like to
present a list of all those who have contributed data or assisted in other
ways in the maintenance of the database.
